The Hero World Challenge on the PGA Tour entered its third round on Saturday at the Albany Golf Course on New Providence, the most populated island in the Bahamas. This exclusive invitational event, hosted by golf legend Tiger Woods, offers world ranking points but does not count towards FedEx Cup points. Proceeds from the event support Woods’ TGR Foundation. Austrian Sepp Straka now tops the leaderboard, narrowly ahead of World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who had shared the lead with Straka after the first two rounds.
Sepp Straka Shines with a 64
Sepp Straka surged to the top of the leaderboard on Saturday with a stellar 64, climbing five spots. His front nine was flawless, featuring three birdies and an eagle on the sixth hole. He continued his strong play on the back nine, adding another birdie and eagle to finish at 17-under-par. Scottie Scheffler, who had matched Straka’s scores on Thursday and Friday, slipped to second after a 65. Despite carding eight birdies and an eagle, Scheffler’s three bogeys left him one shot behind at 16-under-par.
Noren and Matsuyama Share Third
Sweden’s Alex Noren and Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama are tied for third at 14-under-par. Noren climbed three spots with a 67, while Matsuyama dropped two places after a 68 on Saturday.
