PGA Tour: Stephan Jäger Launches Comeback at Farmers Insurance Open

Stephan Jäger starts a strong comeback with a flawless 65, gaining 39 places and lying T6 before the final round.

The Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California, remains thrilling. At the top, 45-year-old American Justin Rose holds steady despite some setbacks on the back nine of the third round.

Rose Maintains Lead Despite Back Nine Struggles

Rose starred with four birdies on the front nine but suffered three bogeys on the back nine. Three more birdies on the closing holes yielded a 68 for the day. Although he couldn’t match his scorching 62 on Thursday or 65 on Friday, Rose remains six strokes ahead at 21 under par.

American Joel Dahmen trails Rose after also shooting a solid 68 on day three, moving up one place to second at 15 under par. Close behind at 13 under are two Asian players sharing third place: Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune and Korea’s Si Woo Kim.

Both faced the South Course challenge on Saturday. Hisatsune balanced two bogeys with three birdies on the front nine and birdied three times without bogeys on the back nine, finishing with a 68. Kim carded a 69 with seven birdies but double-bogeyed the 12th hole, ending the day three under par.

PGA Tour: Jäger’s Strong Comeback and Leap Forward

German Stephan Jäger rebounded strongly after a 75 on the previous day. Shooting a flawless round with seven birdies, Jäger posted a 65, climbing 39 spots to tie for sixth place heading into the final round.

Brooks Koepka, making his PGA Tour comeback at the Farmers Insurance Open after LIV Golf, had an average third round, finishing one over par and tied for 61st. Matti Schmid made the cut and improved 15 places to a tie for 30th with a 70.
