PGA Tour: Stephan Jäger Launches Comeback at Farmers Insurance Open

With a flawless 65, Stephan Jäger makes a strong comeback, climbing 39 spots to T6 before the final round.

The excitement continues at the Farmers Insurance Open of the PGA Tour held at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California. Leading the leaderboard is still the 45-year-old American Justin Rose, despite some setbacks on the back nine during the third round.

Rose Maintains Lead Despite Back Nine Struggles

Rose shined with four birdies on the front nine but incurred three bogeys on the back nine. Although he added three more birdies later in the round, his 68 on Saturday fell short of his 62 on Thursday and 65 on Friday. Nevertheless, Rose holds a six-stroke lead atop the leaderboard at 21-under par.

He is chased by American Joel Dahmen, who posted a strong 68 on Saturday, moving up one place to sole second at 15-under par. Close behind are two Asian players at 13-under par each, sharing third place (T3): Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune and South Korea’s Si Woo Kim.

Both faced challenges on Torrey Pines’ South Course on day three. Hisatsune balanced two bogeys with three birdies on the front nine and remained bogey-free on the back nine, adding three more birdies to finish with a 68. Kim shot a 69 despite a double bogey on hole 12, finishing three under par with seven birdies and two bogeys.

PGA Tour: Jäger’s Strong Comeback and Leap Forward

German Stephan Jäger significantly improved after a 75 on day two. Remaining error-free on Saturday, he recorded seven birdies for a strong 65, climbing to a tie for sixth place (T6) and advancing 39 positions on the leaderboard.

Brooks Koepka, making his comeback from the LIV Golf Tour to the PGA Tour, posted a mediocre day three round, one over par, placing him at T61. Matti Schmid made the cut on Friday but improved only 15 spots to T30 with a 70 on Saturday.
