Stephan Jäger Makes Strong Comeback at Farmers Insurance Open on PGA Tour

Stephan Jäger launches a strong comeback with a flawless 65, climbing 39 spots to tie for sixth before the final round.

The Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California, continues to offer exciting action. At the top, 45-year-old American Justin Rose maintains the lead despite some setbacks on the back nine of the third round.

Rose Holds the Lead Despite Back Nine Struggles

Rose started strong on the front nine with four birdies but faltered with three bogeys on the back nine. Even with three additional birdies on the second half, he carded a 68 in round three, unable to match his earlier scores of 62 and 65. Nevertheless, he remains six strokes clear at the top of the leaderboard at 21 under par.

Following Rose is American Joel Dahmen, who also posted a strong 68 on day three, moving up one place to solo second at 15 under par. Close behind are two Asian players tied for third at 13 under par: Japanese Ryo Hisatsune and Korean Si Woo Kim.

Both players navigated the South Course on day three, with Hisatsune recovering two bogeys with three birdies on the front nine and staying bogey-free on the back nine to card a 68. Kim shot a 69, including a double bogey at hole 12, but seven birdies and two bogeys still yielded a three-under-par round.

PGA Tour: Jäger’s Remarkable Recovery and Leap Forward

German Stephan Jäger significantly improved after a 75 on the previous day. Remaining error-free on Saturday, he made seven birdies to shoot a strong 65, climbing 39 positions to tied sixth heading into the final round.

Brooks Koepka, making his PGA Tour comeback from LIV Golf at the Farmers Insurance Open, struggled again on day three, finishing one over par and tied for 61st. Matti Schmid made the cut and improved 15 places to tie for 30th after a 70 on Friday.
