Stephan Jäger starts a strong comeback with a flawless 65, jumping 39 spots to T6 before the final round.
The Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California remains thrilling. At the top, 45-year-old American Justin Rose holds the lead despite setbacks on the back nine during the third round.
Rose Maintains Lead Despite Back Nine Struggles
On the front nine, Rose shined with four birdies but faced three bogeys on the back nine. Despite three additional birdies in the second half, he finished with a 68-round, unable to match his 62 on Thursday and 65 on Friday. Nonetheless, Rose leads the leaderboard by six strokes at 21 under par.
American Joel Dahmen follows closely, also posting a strong 68 on the third day, moving up one spot to sole second place at 15 under par. Trailing closely with 13 under par are two Asian players: Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune and Korea’s Si Woo Kim, tied for third (T3).
Both competed on the South Course on Saturday. Hisatsune balanced two bogeys with three birdies on the front nine and remained bogey-free on the back nine with three more birdies, finishing with a 68. Kim shot 69, including a double bogey on hole 12 but managed seven birdies and two bogeys for three under par.
