Stephan Jäger fires a flawless 65 to climb 39 spots and sits T6 heading into the final round.
The Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California, remains thrilling. At the top, 45-year-old American Justin Rose still holds the lead despite some setbacks on the back nine of the third round.
Rose Holds Lead Despite Back Nine Woes
Rose shined with four birdies on the front nine but suffered three bogeys on the back nine. Three additional birdies on the back nine led to a 68 for the day. Though he couldn’t match his 62 on Thursday and 65 on Friday, Rose maintains a six-stroke lead at 21 under par.
He is closely pursued by American Joel Dahmen, who also posted a strong 68 on Saturday moving into solo second at 15 under par. Just behind them at tied third with 13 under are Asian players Ryo Hisatsune from Japan and Si Woo Kim from Korea.
Both players faced the challenge on the South Course. Hisatsune balanced two bogeys with three birdies on the front nine and remained bogey-free on the back nine with three more birdies, finishing with a 68. Kim shot a 69 despite a double bogey on hole 12, finishing three under par for the day with seven birdies and two bogeys.
