PGA Tour: Stephan Jäger Makes Strong Comeback at Farmers Insurance Open

Stephan Jäger starts a strong comeback with a flawless 65, climbing 39 spots to T6 before the final round.

The Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour at the Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California remains exciting. At the top, 45-year-old American Justin Rose continues to lead despite some setbacks on the back nine during the third round.

Rose Holds Lead Despite Challenges on Back Nine

On the front nine, Rose impressed with four birdies but suffered three bogeys on the back nine. Three additional birdies in the second half led to a 68 for the day. He could not match his Thursday 62 or Friday 65 rounds but remains six strokes ahead atop the leaderboard at 21 under par.

Rose is chased by American Joel Dahmen, who also posted a strong 68 in the third round, moving into sole possession of second place at 15 under par. Close behind at 13 under par are two Asian players tied for third: Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune and Korea’s Si Woo Kim.

Both competed on the South Course on Saturday. Hisatsune balanced two bogeys with three birdies on the front nine and remained bogey-free on the back nine with three more birdies, finishing with a 68. Kim shot a 69, recording seven birdies and two bogeys including a double bogey on hole 12, finishing three under par for the day.

PGA Tour: Jäger Makes Impressive Leap Forward

German Stephan Jäger dramatically improved after a 75 in the previous round. On Saturday, he played a flawless round featuring seven birdies for a 65, catapulting him 39 spots up the leaderboard to tied 6th place.

Brooks Koepka, making his comeback from LIV Golf on the PGA Tour at this event, had another mediocre day, shooting one over par and currently tied for 61st place. Matti Schmid made the cut on Friday and improved 15 spots to tied 30th following a 70 on Saturday.
