Two more German pros alongside Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid secured spots Monday for the Farmers Insurance Open.
At the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open, all eyes are on Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour. Beyond the star power, significant battles are underway for the golfers, some even before the official tournament start.
PGA Tour Monday Qualifier
In the Monday Qualifier, 60 players competed for four entry spots at the famed Torrey Pines Golf Course. The qualifier was held at Mission Viejo Country Club. Among the successful players were two Germans: Thomas Rosenmüller, who tied with Sweden’s Henrik Norlander for first place at seven under par. Norlander impressed with five consecutive birdies on the back nine, while Rosenmüller spread his nine shot gains throughout the round. After starting on hole 10, he faced two bogeys on holes 7 and 9 but maintained the lead. Key to his success was reliably converting par-5 holes into birdies.
Sharing third place at five under par were Americans Hunter Logan and Jeremy Paul, also qualifying for the Farmers Insurance Open. Paul started on hole 10 as well and played a formidable back nine, including an eagle on hole 1 and two birdies without bogeys. Thus, Rosenmüller and Paul join the German contingent in Torrey Pines.
