PGA Tour: Two German Players Qualify Through Monday Qualifier

Besides Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid, two more German pros qualified on Monday for the Farmers Insurance Open.

At the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open, the main talking point is Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour. However, beyond the stars, much is at stake for the players, even before the official start of the tournament.

PGA Tour Monday Qualifier

Sixty players competed for four starting spots at the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course during the Monday Qualifier held at Mission Viejo Country Club. Among the successful qualifiers were two German players. Thomas Rosenmüller shared first place with Swedish Henrik Norlander, both finishing seven under par. Norlander impressed with five consecutive birdies on the back nine, while Rosenmüller spread his nine stroke gains throughout the round. Starting on hole 10, he had two bogeys on holes 7 and 9 but maintained a leading position. Crucially, Rosenmüller reliably turned the par-5 holes into birdies to secure his top spot.

With five under par, Americans Hunter Logan and Jeremy Paul tied for third place, also qualifying for the Farmers Insurance Open. Paul also started on hole 10 and played a formidable back nine with an eagle on hole 1, two birdies, and no bogeys. Thus, Rosenmüller and Paul completed the German contingent in Torrey Pines.

In the days leading up to the tournament, several other changes occurred in the Farmers Insurance Open field. Brian Campbell, Jimmy Stanger, Nico Echavarria, Patton Kizzire, and Michael Kim withdrew, allowing Matt Kuchar, Justin Lower, Taylor Moore, Joel Dahmen, and Sam Ryder to move in. Furthermore, Brooks Koepka’s participation expanded the field size to 147 players, enabling Jackson Suber and Lanto Griffin to join as well.
