PGA Tour: Two Germans Qualify Through Monday Qualifier for Farmers Insurance Open

Two more German pros, alongside Stephan Jäger and Matti Schmid, qualified Monday for the Farmers Insurance Open.

At the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open, the main topic is Brooks Koepka’s return to the PGA Tour. However, beyond the stars, a lot is at stake for many golfers even before the tournament officially starts.

PGA Tour Monday Qualifier

Sixty players competed for four spots in the tournament at the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course during the Monday Qualifier, held at Mission Viejo Country Club. Among the successful qualifiers were two German players. Thomas Rosenmüller tied for first place with Swede Henrik Norlander at seven under par. Norlander impressed with five consecutive birdies on the back nine, while Rosenmüller spread his nine stroke gains throughout the round. Starting on the 10th hole, he faced two bogeys on holes 7 and 9 but remained at the top of the leaderboard. Crucially, Rosenmüller consistently converted par-5 holes into birdies to secure his leading position.

Sharing third place at five under par were Americans Hunter Logan and Jeremy Paul, who also qualified for the Farmers Insurance Open. Paul, starting on the 10th hole as well, played an excellent back nine including an eagle on hole 1 and two birdies without any bogeys. Rosenmüller and Paul thus complete the German contingent at Torrey Pines.

In the days leading up to the tournament, several other changes occurred in the field. Brian Campbell, Jimmy Stanger, Nico Echavarria, Patton Kizzire, and Michael Kim withdrew, allowing Matt Kuchar, Justin Lower, Taylor Moore, Joel Dahmen, and Sam Ryder to move up. Additionally, the field size was expanded to 147 players with Brooks Koepka’s participation, which also enabled Jackson Suber and Lanto Griffin to enter the tournament.
