Scottie Scheffler Wins 20th PGA Tour Event at The American Express 2026

Scottie Scheffler wins his 20th PGA Tour event before turning 30.

Scottie Scheffler starts 2026 as usual: with a victory. He secured The American Express on the PGA Tour by four strokes ahead of Jason Day, Ryan Gerard, Matt McCarty, and Andrew Putnam tied for second. Scheffler became the second-fastest player to reach 20 wins on the PGA Tour. With a final-round 66, he took the lead while his competitors faltered.

PGA Tour: Scottie Scheffler Dominates The American Express

In the final round, Scheffler made birdies on half of the holes and could have won by an even wider margin if he hadn’t hit his ball into the water on the island green at 17, resulting in a double bogey. Despite this, no competitor matched his 66. Si Woo Kim, who led after three rounds, fell back with a 72 on Sunday. Also, 18-year-old Blades Brown, fresh from the Korn Ferry Tour event final in the Bahamas and tied with Scheffler after three rounds, dropped to T18 with a 74 in the final round.

Scheffler kicks off the year just as dominantly as ever. This is his 16th consecutive top-ten finish, but he doesn’t take victories for granted. “There is a reason we have to finish the tournament. You don’t get the trophy on the 16th hole. You have to finish the tournament. Today I played in the last group against two players who are really, really talented. Si Woo has so much talent. He is so good at golf. I saw Blades for the first time, but any 18-year-old who makes the final group at a PGA Tour event is doing something right. It’s a course where you have to go out and play birdies. There were many challenges today, but I’m proud of how we played and put together a nice round,” Scheffler said.
