Scottie Scheffler Wins 20th PGA Tour Title at The American Express 2026

Scottie Scheffler wins his 20th PGA Tour title before turning 30.

Scottie Scheffler started 2026 as he usually does: with a victory. He won The American Express on the PGA Tour by four strokes ahead of Jason Day, Ryan Gerard, Matt McCarty, and Andrew Putnam tied for second, becoming the second-fastest player to reach 20 PGA Tour wins. Scheffler took the lead with a 66 in the final round as the competition fell behind.

PGA Tour: Scottie Scheffler Dominates The American Express

Scheffler made birdies on half of the holes during the final round and could have won by an even wider margin if he hadn’t hit his ball into the water on the 17th island green, resulting in a double bogey. Nevertheless, none could match his 66. Si Woo Kim, the third-round leader, faltered with a 72 on Sunday, and 18-year-old Blades Brown, who had just played the Korn Ferry Tour final in the Bahamas and was tied with Scheffler after three rounds, dropped to T18 with a 74 in the final round.

This start to the new year marks Scheffler’s 16th consecutive top-ten finish, yet he does not take these victories for granted. “There’s a reason we have to finish the tournament. You don’t get the trophy on the 16th hole. You have to play it out. Today, I played in the last group against two very talented players. Si Woo has so much talent; he’s so good at golf. I saw Blades for the first time, but any 18-year-old who makes the final flight in a PGA Tour event is doing something right. It’s a course where you have to go out and make birdies. There were many challenges today, but I’m proud of how we played and the nice round we put together.”
