Schott and Jäger Climb the OWGR After Strong Performances

After strong performances in Bahrain and California, Schott and Jäger climb the Official World Golf Ranking as the top shifts.

Following the tournament weekend featuring the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship of the DP World Tour in Bahrain and the Farmers Insurance Open of the PGA Tour in Southern California, there were notable changes in the Official World Golf Ranking. After the tense finale at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf (Düsseldorfer Golf-Club) emerged as the tournament winner.

With his victory, Schott jumped 94 places from 103rd to 9th on the Race to Dubai leaderboard. He also improved over 200 spots in the Official World Golf Ranking: early last week he was ranked 436th and had only minimally improved compared to 2025. After his impressive win in Bahrain, he now ranks 195th, placing him within the top 200. Close to him on the ranking is Nicolai von Dellingshausen, also from Düsseldorf but rooted at Golf Club Hubbelrath. Von Dellingshausen currently holds 192nd place and saw no change compared to the previous week.

Jäger Also Climbs the OWGR – Movement at the Top

At the Farmers Insurance Open of the PGA Tour, Stephan Jäger launched a comeback on Saturday and secured a tied 5th place on the final Sunday with 15 under par. The 36-year-old from Munich entered the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking through this performance. Having gained 22 positions, Jäger is now ranked 99th and closely follows Germany’s top player, Matti Schmid, who currently stands at 98th and finished tied 56th at the Farmers Insurance Open. The point difference between the two players is 0.0216.

There were also shifts among the top ranks of the Official World Golf Ranking. Following Englishman Justin Rose’s victory at the Farmers Insurance Open, Tommy Fleetwood dropped from 3rd to 4th. Rose climbed seven spots from 10th to 3rd in the rankings. Englishman Russell Henley and Scotsman Robert MacIntyre each moved down one place. Justin Rose now ranks just behind second-placed Rory McIlroy and the untouched number one, Scottie Scheffler, who has an approximately 8.5-point lead over the Northern Irishman.
