Schott and Jäger Climb the OWGR Following Strong Performances in Bahrain and California

After strong showings in Bahrain and California, Schott and Jäger climb the Official World Golf Ranking, with shifts at the top.

Following the tournament weekend featuring the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour in Bahrain and the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour in Southern California, significant changes occurred in the official Official World Golf Ranking. After a nail-biting finale at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf (Düsseldorfer Golf-Club) emerged as the tournament winner.

Schott’s victory propelled him 94 places up from rank 103 to 9 on the Race to Dubai list. On the Official World Golf Ranking, he climbed over 200 spots: at the start of last week, he was at 436 and had barely improved compared to 2025. Following his glorious win in Bahrain, Schott now ranks 195, firmly within the top 200. Nearby on the ranking is Nicolai von Dellingshausen, also from Düsseldorf but rooted at Golf Club Hubbelrath. Von Dellingshausen currently sits at 192, with no ranking change from the previous week.

Jäger Also Climbs the OWGR – Movement at the Top

At the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour, Stephan Jäger launched his comeback on Saturday and secured a tied 5th place on the final Sunday with 15 under par. This performance lifted the 36-year-old from Munich into the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking. Jäger gained 22 spots, placing him at rank 99 and closely trailing the best German player, Matti Schmid, who currently ranks 98 but finished T56 at the Farmers Insurance Open. Only 0.0216 points separate the two players.

The upper ranks of the OWGR also shifted. Englishman Justin Rose’s victory at the Farmers Insurance Open caused Tommy Fleetwood to drop from 3rd to 4th place. Rose gained seven places, moving from 10th to 3rd. Englishman Russell Henley and Scotsman Robert MacIntyre each slid down one rank. Rose now stands behind second-ranked Rory McIlroy and the untouchable number one Scottie Scheffler, who holds an approximate 8.5-point lead over the Northern Irishman.
