After strong performances in Bahrain and California, Schott and Jäger climb the Official World Golf Rankings, while shifts occur at the top.
Following the tournament weekend with the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour in Bahrain and the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour in Southern California, there was considerable movement in the official World Golf Rankings. After the nerve-wracking finale at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, Freddy Schott from Düsseldorf (Düsseldorfer Golf-Club) emerged victorious.
With his win, Schott jumped 94 places from rank 103 to 9 on the Race to Dubai leaderboard. On the Official World Golf Rankings, he climbed more than 200 spots: Earlier last week, he was still ranked 436 and had only minimal improvement compared to 2025. After his glorious win in Bahrain, Schott now stands at rank 195, inside the top 200. Nearby in the rankings is Nicolai von Dellingshausen, who also hails from Düsseldorf but has roots at Golf Club Hubbelrath. Von Dellingshausen is currently placed 192, with no change compared to the previous week.
Jäger also climbs the World Golf Rankings – Movement at the Top
At the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour, Stephan Jäger launched a comeback on Saturday and secured a tied 5th place at 15 under par on Sunday. The 36-year-old from Munich moved into the top 100 of the Official World Golf Rankings, climbing 22 spots to rank 99. He now closely follows the top German player, Matti Schmid, who currently ranks 98 and finished T56 at the Farmers Insurance Open. They are separated by only 0.0216 points.
There was also movement among the top positions of the Official World Golf Rankings. Englishman Justin Rose’s victory at the Farmers Insurance Open caused Tommy Fleetwood to drop from 3rd to 4th place. Rose improved by seven spots, moving from 10th to 3rd in the rankings. Englishman Russell Henley and Scot Robert MacIntyre each dropped one place. Justin Rose now trails second-placed Rory McIlroy and the untouchable number 1 Scottie Scheffler, who holds a lead of about 8.5 points over the Northern Irishman.
