Odyssey uses AI: New Ai-DUAL putters enhance ball speed and precision with intelligent insert design.
Odyssey, a subsidiary of Callaway, has expanded its putter line with the new Ai-DUAL models, combining material innovation and novel design. Central to the design is the Ai-DUAL insert, a two-layer urethane element developed using artificial intelligence. It features a soft outer layer and a firmer inner layer, designed to produce consistent ball speed across the face and enhanced forward roll. Complementing the insert is the new Forward Roll Design (FRD) groove, which is 19 degrees deeper and more pronounced than previous models, promoting a more uniform forward roll across the face.
Entry-level models also developed with artificial intelligence
The Ai-DUAL putters come in various versions. Standard models feature a lightweight steel shaft with counterweight at the grip end to stabilize the stroke. For players preferring a different balance, Odyssey offers Cruiser variants equipped with heavier heads, longer and heavier shafts, and extended grips.
The Odyssey Ai-DUAL Square 2 as a Zero-Torque Putter
An addition to the line is the Ai-DUAL Square 2 putters, which have a modern, center-shafted design that positions the shaft below the center of gravity, causing the putter head to rest slightly upwards and achieving the so-called \”Zero Torque\” effect. This design keeps the face square during the stroke. These models also feature a preset two-degree forward shaft lean to prevent accidental face opening during forward hand pressure. A specially developed reverse-taper grip compensates for this setting, allowing comfortable and parallel alignment of the grip and putter face.
