Major winner Nelly Korda is torn about the new Women’s Tomorrow Golf League, criticizes its concept and keeps her participation open.
The Tomorrow Golf League (TGL) announced earlier this year the expansion of its indoor league, revealing that starting at the end of 2026 the LPGA Tour will be integrated. This will lead to the creation of the Women’s Tomorrow Golf League (WTGL), which will feature top players from the LPGA Tour. After announcing the first participants, including world number one Jeeno Thitikul from Thailand, triple Olympic medalist Lydia Ko from New Zealand and seven-time US Solheim Cup player Lexi Thompson from the United States, the name of two-time major and Olympic champion Nelly Korda has not yet been mentioned.
Nelly Korda Shares Critical Views on WTGL
On Tuesday, Korda shared her thoughts on the newly founded league in an interview with the American golf magazine Golfweek. During a practice session at the Lake Nona Golf and Country Club driving range in Orlando, Florida, she expressed mixed feelings and criticized TGL: \”I’m surprised no other players have spoken out. It’s really a shame we don’t play alongside the men. There’s no better way to evolve golf, and it would have been revolutionary. I think it would have been the first time men and women played on the same course for the same prize money. But I also think it’s great we get this chance. Those are my mixed emotions.\”
Korda also suggested that instead of creating a new women’s version of TGL, it might have been possible to integrate one woman into the existing men’s teams. She mentioned that many colleagues on the LPGA Tour share similar views.
