Mizuno JPX ONE: New Woods with High-Tech Faces for More Speed and Control

Mizuno introduces the JPX ONE series – drivers, fairway woods, and hybrids featuring high-tech faces for enhanced speed, control, and signature Mizuno feel.

Founded in 1906, the Japanese golf manufacturer Mizuno unveils its new family of woods. The Mizuno JPX ONE series includes a new driver, various fairway woods, and hybrids, which the manufacturer claims redefine ball speed, forgiveness, and feel.

Mizuno JPX ONE: Driver with NANOALLOY Technology

The centerpiece of the innovative woods is the JPX ONE driver – the world’s first driver featuring NANOALLOY face technology. In collaboration with the Japanese chemical and materials company Toray, Mizuno has developed a novel microscopic polymer dispersion that dynamically alters the face’s elasticity at impact. This material stores and releases more energy than conventional titanium or composite constructions, producing higher ball speeds across a significantly larger sweet spot.

Combined with the newly developed CORTECH face, which is up to 0.35 mm thinner than previous generations, the CORAREA (high-speed rebound zone) increases by more than 15% compared to the ST-MAX series. Mizuno introduced two different driver models in total.

The regular JPX ONE driver features a slightly larger clubhead for greater stability and straighter ball flight, while the JPX ONE SELECT offers a more compact, tour-tested shape with a neutral to fade-biased weight distribution. Both models come with adjustable weight systems and a quick-switch hosel, allowing precise tuning of launch and spin to individual preferences.

Fairway Woods: CORTECH Technology for Maximum Energy Transfer

The JPX ONE series also includes newly designed fairway woods featuring a reengineered CORTECH chamber with a variable internal distance between the sole and chamber wall. This geometry enhances the flexion of the face towards the toe and heel, maximizing energy transfer over the entire face without sacrificing center-face performance.

Each clubhead incorporates a composite crown that saves critical grams in the upper area and lowers the center of gravity, resulting in higher launch and reduced spin. A MAS1C steel face with variable thickness ensures maximum efficiency in energy transfer at impact, while the completely redesigned sole optimizes turf interaction. This enables cleaner contact and more consistent ball speeds from various lies. Offered with lofts from 15° to 24°, the JPX ONE fairway woods provide the ideal balance of ball speed, forgiveness, and playable trajectory for golfers seeking effortless distance combined with the characteristic Mizuno feel.

JPX ONE Hybrids: Compact Design with Fairway Wood Technology

The JPX ONE hybrids adopt the design philosophy of the fairway woods but translate it into a more compact, iron-like shape. Their waffle crown structure enhances face stability and allows Mizuno engineers to position available mass deeper and further back in the clubhead, supporting optimal launch and maximum spin control.

Similar to the fairway woods, the hybrids feature a MAS1C face combined with a CORTECH chamber and the aforementioned novel sole design. Available lofts are 19°, 22°, 25°, and 28°, providing a seamless transition from long irons to fairway woods.
