In early September, the MercedesTrophy family gathered at Öschberghof for the 2025 Germany Final under the motto ‘We are family’.
A Unique Gathering at Öschberghof
From September 1 to 4, the Öschberghof resort became the epicenter of amateur golf in Germany as 52 finalists competed in the MercedesTrophy Germany Final 2025. The event featured not only competitive golf but also celebrity encounters, test drives, coaching sessions, gourmet experiences, and more.
About the MercedesTrophy
The MercedesTrophy is an international invitational tournament series held in over 60 countries. In Germany, 13 qualifying tournaments with 876 participants led to the national final. Each event produced a winning team, and three individual players from the final earned spots at the World Final.
Teams of five competed, with the captain not playing. The best two net scores per hole from the four players counted toward the team total, emphasizing strategy and teamwork.
Highlights and Winners
The event kicked off with a team evening hosted by RTL presenter Wolfram Kons. The first round took place on the EAST Course, featuring contests like Longest Drive and Nearest to the Pin. Winners received prizes such as Mercedes-Benz Driving Event vouchers and tickets to the 2026 AIG Women’s Open.
On day two, players tackled the OLD Course with a hole-in-one prize of a Mercedes-Benz CLA worth €80,000. Only one participant managed to beat pro Philipp Mejow in a Nearest to the Pin challenge. Team Rhein-Ruhr claimed the overall title with 180 points.
The three players qualifying for the World Final were Alexander Drewke (Team STERNAUTO Ostsee), Martin Hintelmann (Team STERNPARTNER), and Dr. Ulrich Göhring (Team Nord).
Charity and Experience
The event also raised €47,610 for the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, with former footballer Roman Weidenfeller accepting the donation. The Öschberghof, with its 45-hole golf facility and luxurious amenities, provided the perfect setting for this celebration of amateur golf and community spirit.
