In early September, the MercedesTrophy family gathered at Öschberghof for the 2025 Germany Final under the motto ‘We are family’.
A special reunion at Öschberghof
From September 1st to 4th, the MercedesTrophy Germany Final 2025 turned the Öschberghof resort into the epicenter of amateur golf in Germany. All players who qualified through regional events were invited to compete. The event featured thrilling golf action, team spirit, and precision, surrounded by exclusive experiences, celebrity encounters, test drives, coaching sessions, fine dining, and more.
Inside the MercedesTrophy
The MercedesTrophy is an international invitational tournament series held in over 60 countries. In 2025, Germany hosted 13 qualifying tournaments with 876 players. Each event crowned winners in HCPI classes A, B, and C, plus one wildcard, sending 52 finalists to the national final at Öschberghof. From there, three players earned spots in the World Final.
Teams of five competed, with captains not playing. The best two net scores per hole from the four players counted toward the team total, making every shot and strategy crucial.
Final rounds and highlights
Monday kicked off with a team dinner at Öschberghof, hosted by RTL presenter Wolfram Kons. Tuesday’s first round was played on the EAST Course, with added excitement from Longest Drive and Nearest to the Pin contests. Winners received prizes like a Mercedes-Benz Driving Event voucher and a ticket to the 2026 AIG Women’s Open.
Wednesday’s second round took place on the OLD Course. A hole-in-one prize—a new Mercedes-Benz CLA worth €80,000—went unclaimed. Only one participant managed to beat pro Philipp Mejow in a Nearest to the Pin challenge, highlighting the skill gap between amateurs and pros. Team Rhein-Ruhr won the team title with 180 points. The World Final qualifiers were Alexander Drewke (Net A), Martin Hintelmann (Net B), and Dr. Ulrich Göhring (Net C).
The event also supported the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, raising €47,610 through donations collected during the qualifiers. Laureus ambassador Roman Weidenfeller accepted the symbolic check during a Tuesday evening ceremony.
With its top-tier courses and luxury amenities, Öschberghof proved to be the perfect host. Combined with the warm atmosphere created by the Mercedes-Benz team, the event truly lived up to its ‘We are Family’ motto.
