Membership Restored, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to the PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh making a comeback, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the LIV Golf League’s 2026 season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. LIV CEO Scott McNeil said this was mutually agreed upon. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on top-level competition, something he lacked at LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly because of injury concerns and to secure his retirement fund. His skipping the last contract year is unsurprising, though questions remain about possible buyouts or partial paybacks. He remains the owner of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife where Koepka will play next: DP World Tour, where he is immediately eligible possibly with a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV event, after previous lifetime bans were softened. Why be vindictive when every returning LIV player aids the stronger tour? ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied to reinstate his 2022-expired PGA Tour membership last Friday to rejoin the playing field.
