Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh plans a comeback, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. According to LIV CEO Scott McNeil, this was agreed upon amicably. Koepka is a competitor who gets highly motivated and fired up in top-level competition, something he found limited in LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 after injuries made him consider retirement, aiming to secure a substantial pension fund. Therefore, his withdrawal from the final contractual season is not surprising, though questions remain about financial arrangements and his ownership status of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is ripe about which tours Koepka will join next – the DP World Tour where he would have immediate eligibility, possibly paying a penalty, or the PGA Tour where he must serve a one-year suspension following his last LIV event after lifetime bans were softened. Notably, returning LIV players, especially prominent ones, benefit the established tour. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka officially applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022.
