Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh ready for more, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season, starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. The LIV CEO Scott McNeil stated that the decision was mutual and amicable. However, questions remain regarding Koepka’s departure. Known as a competitor who thrives in high-level contests, Koepka was not fully motivated during his time at LIV, to which he switched mainly in 2022 due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. This explains his waiver of the final contracted season. It is uncertain whether he had to buy out his contract or return part of his guaranteed salary. He also remains owner of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation abounds about where Koepka will play next. He holds immediate eligibility on the DP World Tour, possibly facing a penalty, or on the PGA Tour, where he must serve a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, following the significant reduction of previous lifetime bans by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. This crucial question has partly been answered. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported that last Friday Koepka formally applied to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not extended after 2022, to be reinstated among the players.
