Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to the PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returning to the PGA Tour, Charley Hull launching a YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s friendly official statement. However, Koepka, a competitive spirit who thrives in top-level competitions, has been less motivated at LIV. He moved there in 2022 largely due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. His decision not to play the last contractual season is understandable but raises questions about possible buyouts or partial repayment of guaranteed earnings. He reportedly remains the owner of LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculations abound about which fairways Koepka will play next. DP World Tour membership would be immediate, potentially with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, but lifetime bans have been significantly softened. This key question seems partially answered. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported that Koepka applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the players’ pool.
