Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to the PGA Tour Immediately

First appearance already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull launching a YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion intends to stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka, known as a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, was only moderately motivated at LIV events. He initially joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a financial retirement cushion. Thus, skipping the last contractual season is not surprising, although questions remain regarding potential buyouts or repayments. He remains owner of his LIV team, Smash GC, which recently named Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation surrounds where Koepka will next compete. The DP World Tour would allow immediate eligibility, possibly with a penalty; on the PGA Tour, he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV event, as lifetime bans from former commissioner Jay Monahan were softened. Returning LIV players, especially prominent ones, benefit the PGA Tour, which holds significant leverage. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, which had not been renewed after 2022.
