Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns Immediately to PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was amicably agreed upon according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. However, Koepka is a competitor who thrives in high-level competition and found limited motivation at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 mainly to secure his retirement funds due to injury concerns. His decision not to play the final contractual year raises questions about buyouts or refunding guaranteed earnings. He remains the owner of LIV team Smash GC, now led by captain Talor Gooch.

Speculation abounds on which tour Koepka will join next—immediately eligible for the DP World Tour, possibly with a penalty fee, or seeking reinstatement to the PGA Tour after serving a one-year suspension imposed following LIV participation. Former Commissioner Jay Monahan’s lifetime bans have been softened. Following ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach’s report, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, dropped after 2022, aiming to regain player status.
