Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager for more, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season starting on February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for his family. This was amicably agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he lacked in LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns foreseeing an early end to his career and to secure substantial retirement earnings. The decision to forgo the final contract year is understandable, though questions remain about potential buyouts or repayments. He remains owner of his LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch now captain.

Speculation swirls about where Koepka will compete next. On the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible—possibly with a penalty—or on the PGA Tour, where he must serve a one-year suspension from his last LIV event after lifetime bans were softened. Why seek revenge when every LIV returnee benefits the dominant PGA Tour? This key question seems partially answered. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player ranks.
