Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to the PGA Tour

First start already at Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull soon launching on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This was amicably agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s statement. Koepka is known as a competitive athlete who thrives on high-level competition, something he found limited in LIV. Initially in 2022, he joined LIV primarily to secure his financial future after injury-plagued career doubts. Hence, skipping the final contracted season is not surprising, though questions remain about financial settlements and his ownership in LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculations are rife about which tours Koepka will appear on next: the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible—possibly against a penalty—or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV appearance. This suspension has been substantially reduced from lifetime bans originally imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. A key question seems partly answered: ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported that Koepka formally applied to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022.
