Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to the PGA Tour

First start already at Farmers, Vijay Singh ready to compete again, Charley Hull launching a YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is known as a competitive type who thrives in high-level competition and lacked motivation at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 primarily due to injury concerns about ending his career earlier and to secure retirement money. Therefore, skipping the final contractual season is not surprising, although questions remain about possible buy-outs or repaying guaranteed fees. He remains part-owner of the LIV team Smash GC, led by new captain Talor Gooch.

Speculation rises on which tours Koepka might play on next — the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible likely with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he must serve a one-year suspension after his last LIV event, reduced from a lifetime ban imposed by former commissioner Jay Monahan. It now appears partially resolved: ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported that last Friday Koepka formally applied to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022.
