Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to give it another go, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially opted out of the 2026 LIV Golf season starting on February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This amicable agreement was stated officially by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which LIV did not fully provide. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly as he feared his career was ending due to injury and wanted to secure a solid retirement fund. Given that, it’s not surprising he foregoes his last contractual season, though questions remain about buyouts or repayments. He remains an owner of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation continues on which tour Koepka will next appear. The DP World Tour would allow immediate eligibility, possibly subject to a penalty. The PGA Tour, where he faced a one-year suspension after his last LIV start (following the softening of former Commissioner Jay Monahan’s lifetime bans), remains an option. Why hold grudges when returning LIV players, especially big names, benefit the established tour? This key question seems partly answered. According to ESPN reporter Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not extended after 2022.
