Brooks Koepka’s Membership Renewed: No Suspension, PGA Tour Return Confirmed

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, and Charley Hull launches a YouTube channel. The latest Back Nine updates.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has opted out of the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but seeks more family time. LIV CEO Scott McNeil officially confirmed this amicable arrangement. Koepka, known for his competitive fire at the highest level, found less motivation at LIV, having joined in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure his retirement funds. Questions remain about whether he had to buy out his contract or refund guarantees, and if he still owns his LIV team, Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will next tee off: the DP World Tour where he would be immediately eligible—possibly with a penalty—or the PGA Tour where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV appearance, after lifetime bans imposed by former commissioner Jay Monahan were softened. This question seems partly answered as ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the playing field.
