Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Now Eligible on PGA Tour

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, Charley Hull to launch YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has opted out of the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will stay connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time. LIV CEO Scott McNeil stated this was a friendly agreement. Koepka, known for thriving in top-level competition, had limited motivation in LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping his last contractual season is unsurprising, though questions remain about buyouts or partial refunds. Koepka remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as the new captain.

Speculation abounds about where Koepka will next compete. He would be eligible immediately on the DP World Tour, possibly with a penalty, or on the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV appearance. Previously imposed lifetime bans by former PGA Commissioner Jay Monahan have been softened. Returning LIV players, especially high-profile ones like Koepka, benefit the PGA Tour greatly. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership for play beyond 2022.
