Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Immediately Returns to PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh ready for a comeback, Charley Hull launching YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has opted out of the LIV Golf League season 2026, starting on February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives in high-level competition, something he has lacked in LIV, which he joined in 2022 primarily due to injury doubts and to secure retirement funds. Questions remain whether he had to pay to exit or return part of his guaranteed money and if he remains an owner of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation abounds about which fairways Koepka will next appear on: DP World Tour, where he’d be immediately eligible mostly likely with a penalty; or PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV event, which has been significantly reduced from the original lifetime ban. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the players’ roster.
