Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Immediately Back on the PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to play again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting on February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time. This was said to be a mutual agreement, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitive type who gets truly motivated in high-level competitions, something that was somewhat lacking in LIV Golf. He initially joined LIV in 2022 mainly because of injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. The skipping of his final contracted season is therefore not surprising, although questions remain about potential buyouts or salary repayments. He also remains the owner of LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as the new captain.

Speculation arises on which fairways Koepka will next appear: the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible likely with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he would have to serve a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, after former Commissioner Jay Monahan softened lifetime bans. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not extended after 2022.

Any suspension would end in August, coinciding with the end of the 2026 season at the Tour Championship from August 27 to 30. Koepka would then be eligible for 2027, when the PGA Tour plans nearly two dozen $20 million tournaments with limited, well-stocked fields. A perfect time for a comeback, fitting Koepka’s style. PGA Tour Enterprises investors would also welcome another star joining the new top league.

\”He might need some time, but I think he will return to the PGA Tour,\” said Jon Rahm recently on the podcast \”Subpar.\” \”He will probably play at least the minimum, and why not play the big tournaments he likes? If he can qualify or get invited to top events, he will play those too.\” Suspension decisions involve the board, player directors and the competition committee led by Tiger Woods, and Rory McIlroy has recommended allowing Koepka to play immediately.

Update: It has exactly happened. On Monday evening local time, news spread fast that Koepka is reinstated immediately and will tee off at
