Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Immediately Back on the PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager for a comeback, Charley Hull soon launching on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7th in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives in high-level competition, something he lacked at LIV. He joined LIV primarily in 2022 thinking his career was ending due to injuries and to secure a good retirement fund. Hence, skipping the last contractual season is not surprising though questions remain, such as whether he bought out of the contract or refunded part of his guaranteed pay. He still owns his LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch named new captain.

Speculation abounds on which tours Koepka will appear on next: DP World Tour, where he would likely be immediately eligible, possibly with a penalty? Or PGA Tour, where he must serve a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, after the lifetime bans imposed by former commissioner Jay Monahan were softened? This crucial question seems partially answered as ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported that Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and be reinstated.
