Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh makes a comeback, and Charley Hull heads to YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives in high-level competition, something LIV didn’t fully satisfy. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly because injury made him consider retirement and to secure a substantial pension fund. Therefore, skipping the last contracted season is not surprising, although questions remain about possible buyouts or partial returns of guaranteed payments. Koepka remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, which recently named Talor Gooch captain.

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will play next — the DP World Tour, where he is immediately eligible, potentially with a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV start, after lifetime bans by former Commissioner Jay Monahan were softened? It seems the PGA Tour benefits from every prominent LIV returnee. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022.
