Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh still eager, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he found limited in LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure retirement funds. Questions remain whether he had to buy out his contract or return part of his guaranteed pay. He also remains the owner of the LIV team Smash GC, which named Talor Gooch as the new captain.

Speculation is rife where Koepka will next compete — the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible, possibly paying a penalty; or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, after former commissioner Jay Monahan reduced lifetime bans. The key question partly answers itself. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership that had not been renewed after 2022 and to rejoin the players’ circle.
