As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season, which begins on February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major champion will remain connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for his family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, known as a fierce competitor motivated by high-level competition, was less engaged with LIV. He had originally joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns and for financial security before retirement. While questions remain about financial settlements, Koepka remains owner of the LIV team Smash GC, which appointed Talor Gooch as the new captain.
Speculations abound about which tour Koepka will appear on next: the DP World Tour, where immediate eligibility is possible, potentially with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV appearance, after lifetime bans were significantly softened. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not extended after 2022.
