Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh is back, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf League season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is known to be a competitor who thrives on high-level tournaments, something he lacked in LIV. He switched to LIV in 2022 mainly because injury had led him to believe his career was ending, and he wanted to secure a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping the final contractual season is not surprising, though questions remain about financial settlements. Is he still owner of his LIV team Smash GC, which recently appointed Talor Gooch as captain?

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will next play. The DP World Tour would allow immediate eligibility—possibly with a penalty. The PGA Tour, where he would have to serve a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, has softened lifetime bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. Why be vindictive when every returning LIV player serves the established tours’ interests? ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported that last Friday, Koepka formally applied to reinstate his PGA Tour membership after not renewing post-2022, seeking to regain playing rights.
