Koepka Renewed Membership, No Suspension: Back on PGA Tour Now

Starting soon at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, Charley Hull heads to YouTube. The Back Nine.

Brooks Koepka, the five-time major champion, has officially withdrawn from the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season starting February 7 in Riyadh, choosing instead to pursue opportunities within the competing circuits while prioritizing family time. LIV CEO Scott McNeil stated the parting was amicable. Koepka, known as a competitor who thrives on high-level contests, had limited motivation in LIV and initially joined in 2022 amid injury concerns, aiming for a financial nest egg. Speculation now revolves around where Koepka will play next – the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible possibly after a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following previous sanctions against LIV players. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reports Koepka has formally applied to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, signaling a possible return.

Koepka’s PGA Tour Membership Renewed Without Suspension

The suspension is expected to expire in August 2026, aligning with the conclusion of the Tour Championship. Koepka would be eligible for the 2027 season, which introduces a revamped PGA Tour schedule with fewer, higher-stakes events featuring limited, elite fields – an ideal scenario for his comeback. Jon Rahm recently expressed in the \”Subpar\” podcast his belief Koepka will return to PGA Tour, likely playing selectively and participating in significant tournaments. The competition committee led by Tiger Woods and player directors, including Rory McIlroy who supports Koepka’s return, have influence on suspension decisions.

Update: On Monday evening, news broke that Koepka is immediately eligible to compete on the PGA Tour again, beginning with the Farmers Insurance Open in late January at Torrey Pines, with the Phoenix Open already confirmed.
This was made possible by the new \”Returning Member Program\” established last Thursday, allowing selected LIV players to regain PGA Tour membership without penalty, considering recent major achievements like Koepka’s 2023 PGA Championship victory.
PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp emphasized this opportunity is unique and not a precedent for future cases. Koepka must donate $5 million to PGA Tour charities and faces restrictions including exclusion from the 2026 FedEx Cup bonus and five years from PGA Tour’s equity partnership.

DeChambeau Confirms LIV Golf Participation in 2026

Bryson DeChambeau also confirmed he will compete in the LIV Golf League in 2026 with his Crushers team unchanged. However, no general contract extension was announced, sparking speculation about LIV’s future plans to retain their top talent.

Vijay Singh Returns to PGA Tour at 62

In a surprising move, three-time major winner Vijay Singh returns to PGA Tour competition at age 62, using his career money list exemption to play at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Singh previously competed on the PGA Tour Champions, winning five titles including the Senior Players Championship.
