Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major champion will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, known as a fierce competitor motivated by top-level sports challenges, had limited enthusiasm for LIV events. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns threatening his career and the opportunity to secure a substantial retirement fund. Thus, his waiver of the last contractually obligated season is unsurprising, though questions remain about possible buyouts or repayment of guaranteed money. He also retains ownership of his LIV team, Smash GC, which appointed Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation is rife about which tour Koepka will appear on next. He would be immediately eligible on the DP World Tour, likely facing a penalty fee, or on the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV event, after previously imposed lifetime bans were significantly reduced. Why hold grudges when a prominent LIV returnee benefits the established tour wielding the upper hand? ESPN reporter Mark Schlabach revealed Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player pool after not renewing post-2022.
