Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants another go, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has announced that he will not participate in the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. That was the friendly agreement, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he found limited at LIV Golf. Initially, he joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. Hence, skipping the final contractual season is understandable, though questions remain about financial settlements and ownership of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

The big question is, where Koepka will compete next. The DP World Tour could grant immediate eligibility, potentially with penalties, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV event, reduced from a lifetime ban under former Commissioner Jay Monahan. Why hold grudges when each LIV returnee benefits the stronger PGA Tour? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported that Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, which had not been renewed after 2022.
