Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, Charley Hull plans YouTube debut. The Back Nine.

Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka, known as a highly competitive player who thrives in top-level competition, reportedly lacked motivation in LIV. He had joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and as a financial safety net for retirement. His decision to skip the final contractual season is not surprising, although questions remain about possible buyouts or repayments. He also remains an owner of LIV’s Smash GC team, which recently named Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation abounds about which tour Koepka will compete on next. While he would be immediately eligible on the DP World Tour, possibly for a penalty fee, on the PGA Tour he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV start, following the significant relaxation of the lifetime bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. Reports confirm Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not extended after 2022.
