Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, Charley Hull heads to YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for family. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, known as a competitive type who thrives in top-level contests, seemed less motivated in LIV Golf. Having joined in 2022 largely for financial security amid injury concerns, it’s no surprise he waived his last contractual season, though questions about buyout or payback remain. Whether he remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, which named Talor Gooch captain, is also unclear.

Speculation abounds on where Koepka will next compete — the DP World Tour where he would be immediately eligible, possibly with a fine, or the PGA Tour where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, though lifetime bans from former commissioner Jay Monahan have been greatly reduced. Why hold grudges when every LIV returnee bolsters the PGA Tour? ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which had not been renewed after 2022.
