Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants another shot, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a competitive player who thrives on high-level competitive challenges, which he only partially found in LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly for financial security due to injury concerns about his career’s end. His skipping of the final contractual season is not surprising, although questions remain about any buyout or repayment of guaranteed salary. He remains the owner of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation continues about where Koepka will play next — on the DP World Tour, where he would have immediate eligibility, possibly with a penalty, or on the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV event after former commissioner Jay Monahan softened lifetime bans. Why be vindictive when every prominent LIV returnee benefits the PGA Tour, which holds the stronger leverage? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported that Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player pool.
