Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh ready for a comeback, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major champion reportedly remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family, as per a friendly agreement, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he found limited at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 as he feared his career would end due to injury and wanted to secure a solid retirement fund. His opting out of the last contractual season is thus not surprising, although questions remain about potential buyouts or repayments. Despite this, he remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife about which tour Koepka will compete on next — the DP World Tour, where immediate eligibility might require a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV event due to previously imposed lifetime bans now softened. It is now partially answered: according to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which had not been renewed after 2022.
