Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives in high-level competition, which LIV has only partially provided. He switched in 2022 mainly because of injury concerns and the desire to secure a solid retirement fund. So his skipping the final contracted season is not surprising, although questions remain about buyouts or reimbursements. He remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch named new captain.

Speculation is rife about which tours Koepka might next appear on — DP World Tour, where he is immediately eligible (possibly with penalties), or PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV start, after lifelong bans by former commissioner Jay Monahan were softened. Why be vindictive when every LIV returnee benefits the established tour? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership from post-2022 status and be reinstated as a player.
