Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers already, Vijay Singh ready for another challenge, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was reportedly a friendly agreement, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives in top-level contests, which LIV only partially offered. He switched to LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure financial stability for retirement. It is not surprising that he skipped the last contractual season, though questions remain about potential buyouts or paybacks. He also remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, which recently appointed Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculations are rampant about which tours Koepka will join next. He is immediately eligible for the DP World Tour, potentially with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV appearance after former Commissioner Jay Monahan reduced lifelong suspensions. Returning LIV players, especially prominent ones like Koepka, benefit the established Tour’s interests. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022, to rejoin the player field.
