Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was mutually agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a competitive type who thrives in high-level competition, something he found limited at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injuries and to secure retirement earnings. It’s not surprising he waived his last contracted season, although questions remain about possible buyouts or repayments. He remains the owner of his LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as the new captain.

Speculations abound about where Koepka will next compete: the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible likely with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he would face a one-year suspension from his last LIV appearance, though lifelong bans imposed by former commissioner Jay Monahan have been significantly softened. Why retaliate when every returning LIV player benefits the established tour? The question seems partly answered. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player pool.
