First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh is ready to compete again, and Charley Hull is soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.
As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was mutually agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, a competitor who motivates best during top-level competition, was only moderately motivated by LIV. In 2022, he mainly joined LIV due to injuries making him doubt his career’s longevity and to secure a decent retirement fund. It’s no surprise he is skipping the final contracted season, though questions remain about possible buyouts or paybacks. He remains the owner of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.
Speculation grows on which tour Koepka will join next: the DP World Tour, where he could play immediately possibly after a penalty payment? Or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV event, after Jay Monahan’s initial lifetime bans were softened? However, the PGA Tour benefits from LIV player’s return, especially prominent names like Koepka. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player pool.
